GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) _ A former Oregon theater director who is a suspect in bank robberies in Oregon, Idaho and Maryland has been arrested in Arizona.
Thirty-six-year-old James Pate was arrested December fifth in Phoenix after allegedly trying to steal a motor home.
Prosecutors in Medford, Oregon, say they expect to extradite Pate sometime in the next several weeks.
Pate was arrested in September in Dewey Beach, Delaware, on a national warrant. But a judge in Maryland -- for a reason that is still unclear -- dismissed the case and let Pate go.
Prosecutors in Oregon say they were angry about the release -- but they're glad that Arizona police gave them another break in the case.
Pate is accused of robbing banks in Germantown, Maryland; Mountain Home, Idaho; and Gold Hill, Oregon
